Privacy Policy
Screenshot Sort organizes the screenshots on your phone by the app they came from. Everything happens on your device. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do.
What the app accesses
- Photos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES): used solely to find screenshots in your photo library and display them inside the app. Images are never modified, moved, renamed, copied elsewhere, or uploaded.
- Usage access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): used solely to determine which app was on screen at the moment a screenshot was taken. This check reads only a narrow window of foreground-app events around the capture time, and may run again for up to ~48 hours after a screenshot (for example, when the permission is granted later). Your app-usage history is never stored, profiled, or transmitted — only the resulting app name is saved in the local index.
What we collect
Nothing. Screenshot Sort has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers. The app does not even request the network permission — it is technically incapable of uploading anything. No personal data, images, usage records, or identifiers are sent anywhere by this app.
Where your data lives
The app keeps a small local index (which screenshot came from which app) in a private database on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this index. Your screenshots themselves are never touched by uninstalling.
The index is excluded from Android system backups and device transfers — its identifiers are only meaningful on the device that created them. On a new device the app simply starts fresh and rebuilds its index.
Deletion
Deleting a screenshot from within the app always goes through the Android system confirmation dialog and moves the image to the system trash, where it can be recovered for about 30 days.
Children
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
